北京协和医院（PUMCH）建成于 1921 年，由洛克菲勒基金会创办，是中国现代医学的发源地与综合实力最强的公立医院之一。在复旦大学医院管理研究所发布的"中国医院排行榜"中，据该榜单连续多年位居全国综合医院前列。作为国家卫生健康委指定的"全国疑难重症诊治指导中心"，协和以"严谨、求精、勤奋、奉献"的院训闻名。
Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), founded in 1921 by the Rockefeller Foundation, is widely regarded as the birthplace of modern medicine in China and one of the country’s leading tertiary hospitals. It has ranked among the top general hospitals in China for many years on the Fudan University Hospital Management Institute rankings. Designated by the National Health Commission as a National Center for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Complex and Rare Diseases, PUMCH is known for its motto: "Strictness, Meticulousness, Diligence, and Devotion."

协和是国家罕见病质控中心和国家罕见病注册平台（NRDRS）的牵头单位。其首创的多学科联合会诊（MDT）模式能够汇集全院数十个科室的顶尖专家，为病因不明、跨多个系统的疑难罕见病患者提供诊断支持。
PUMCH leads the National Quality Control Center for Rare Diseases and the National Rare Diseases Registry System (NRDRS). Its Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) consultation model brings together specialists across departments for undiagnosed, complex, and multisystemic conditions.

PUMCH’s International Medical Center (IMC) offers bilingual outpatient and inpatient care, second-opinion consultations, and direct billing with major global commercial insurance providers. It also serves as the primary clinical teaching hospital for Peking Union Medical College.
